The Kaiser on a Holiday Trip
Beceived March 15, at 8.35 a.m. ■ LONDON, March 14. a Tiiissian telegram, despatched Jram Port Arthur at 7 o'clock on the evening of the 13th, denies the reported abandonment of the Port. Captaia Asai, who commanded the Japanese flotilla during the bombardment of Port Art-nur on the 10th,, states lie would bave rescued many more of the.Russians but for the proximity of the Novik and the deadly hre from the shore batteries Japanese bonds are quoted in I'oJvio at seven per cent, above the London quotations. The difference is attributed to- the holders' confidence in the result of the war. The Japanese press, commontinoon the report that Russia is sending submarines overland, recall the resolution submitted for consideration at the Hague Peace Conference by tho Czar that submarines were contrary to civilised warfare.
The Kaiser -has started on a visit to the Mediterranean for the -benefit of his health. His absence is interpreted as an indication that neutral Powers aro not likely to be involved in the Far East. *
