MR KINSELLA.

At the banquet tendered to him in, Palmerston ,N. last week, Mr Seddon deemed it necessary to make a1 statement in reference to Mr Einsella. In announcing that the latter gentleman was returning to New Zealand to resume the position of. Dairy Commissioner, he inferred that Mr Kmsella hadbeen glad to again get employment from the Government and that he had practically begged for it. That Mr Seddon did not state the position fairly in regard to Mr Kinsella is the opinion o£ most people. It is a well-known fact that the dairying section of the Department of Agriculture has been m a state of chaos since Mr Einsella's de-

parture from New Zealand, and the attempt oE the Government to carry on the work with the help they had at their disposal was a very feeble one. Mr Kinsella would not have left New Zealand had he been given a fair salary and the same remarks apply to other good men who have afc different periods left the Department. The Government are, however, very glad to again receive Mr Kmsella's help at a much higher rate of pay than he received previously. ,It is fortunate, however, for the dairying industry in New Zealand that he is returning, and it is to be hoped that any recommendations he may make in the future will receive the attention they deserve from the
