MINIMUM PRICE OP ISSUE, £100 PEE CENT. npHE Colonial Treasurer invites J- Tenders for £500,000 New Zealand Government 4-per-cent. Debentures, payable to Bearer, and of the face-value of £1000, JESOO, JE2OO, and £100 respectively, as may be desired. t These Debentures are secured on the Public Keveouos of New Zealand. The Principal will be repaid at par not earlier than five years nor later than twenty years from the let February, 1904, the Government reserving to itself the right of redemption (by conversion or otherwise) on the Ist February or Ist August, 1909, or in any year after the I year 19&9, upon giving six months' notice in the Government Gazette; and in at least four newspapers published in the colony, of its intention" to do no. ■* Both Principal and Interest will be made payable at the Treasury, Wellington, New Zealand. Dividends, represented by coupons attached to the debentures, will be payable on the Ist February and the Ist, August in each ye3r during the currency of the lean, at the Cashier's Office, Treasury, Wellington, or any Branch of the Bank of New Zealand in New Zealand or Australia. , , At the option of the holder of any debenture, aDd on application made in that behalf at the Treasury, Wellington, New Zealand, he may at any time during its currency have it indorsed payable, both as to principal and interest, at any specified Branch of the Bank of Now Zealand in Australia: Provided that the endorsement ehall be made not less than one month before the due date of the nest ensuing ayment of interest. Scrip Cerlificates (with Coupon attached for the payment of Interest for the broken period from the 4t,h January, to the Ist February, 1904) • will be issued, to be exchanged for the Deben-ture-bonds with Intereßt-coupons attached. ■' - The first six months' interest, calculated upon the nominal amount of the Debenture, will be payable on the Ist August, 1904. The issue-price will be at the rate of £100 in money for evory £100 expressed in debentures (below which no tender will be accepted), payable as follows:— Deposit^of 5 percent, on application. First instalment of 45 per cent, on Monday, 4th January, 1904. Second instalment of 50 per cent, on Monday, Ist February, 1904. Payments made be made in full at any time on or after the 4th January, 1904, at a discount at the rate of one pound ten shillings per centum per annum. Sealed Tenders, addressed to the Secretary to the Treasury, Government Buildings, Wellington, accompanied wi h the 5-per-cent. deposit, will be received up to noon of Wednesday, 23rd December, 1903, when ,they wil be opened in the presence of the Colonial Treasurer and the Controller and Auditor-Genoral, and allotment will forthwith bo made. If cheques are lodged with a Tender, they must be drawn upon a Bank in Wellington, and be marked by such Bank as "good" for fourteen days. Cheques issued by a Bank need not be so m ked. Tenders may be for the whole or any part of the Loan, and must state what amount of money will be given for every £100 of the Debentures tendered for. Tenders must be tor even hundreds of pounds sterling, and at prices which are multiples of sixpence. Tenders at different prices must be on separate forms. The nominal amount of Debentures tendered for must be written on the outside of the Tender. In case of default m the payment of any instalment at ita proper date, the deposit and instalment (if any) previously paid will be liable to forfeiture. If no allotment is made the deposit will be returard. * The first and seoond instalments may be paid at any Uranoh of the Bank of New Zealand either in the Colony or Australia, to the credit of th<i Public Account, or at the Treasury, Wellington, not later than the seytral dates previously mentioned. Tenders must be on printed forms, which may bp obtained at the Cashier's OfiSce, Treasury, Wellington, or at the Offices of the Bank of New Zealand at Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Weilington, Christchurch, or Dunodin.
