Glen Oroua.

At last night's meeting of the Wanganui Education Board, tho following letter was received :— The Secretary for Education, — I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th instant, forwarding your inspector's report on the proposal to establish a school at Glen Oroua, 1 am directed to ask if the Board has any reason to urge, beyond the opinion expressed by the proprietor of the coach and conveyed in the letter from Mr W. T. Wood, | under cover of your letter of tho 28th January, why the plan of con- ' veying the children adopted last year -should not be continued. In reply to the Chairman, Mr Pirani stated that the only reasons he knew of were that the amount paid to the coach proprietor was not sufficient, and that there were enough children in the district for a school.

It was decided to write to the Department to that effect.
