Also that the said by-laws be now open for inspection at the said office ot the Kairanga County Council, at Palmerston North, durmg business hours." The object and purport of the proposed by-laws are as follows, namely: a. To prescribe penalties for offences on roads, bridges, and public places and to define such offences. b. To regulate heavy traffic generally and to regulate the width of tyres of wheel s in proportion to leads and to regulate the weight of loads to be carried by vehicles and to prescribe methods for the assessment and • computation of ■weights of loads to be carried by vehicles. c To reculate the use of traction engines and waggons, attached thereto, and to prescribe the payment of yearly license fees for the same and the payment of compensation for damages caused to roads and bridges by traction engines and waggons attached thereto and generally to prescribe penalties for breach of the said by-laws.
