STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Abraham and Williarris report :—

We have a very full week of sales to report on, including Dannevirke, Woodville, Pahiatua, Shannon, Otaki, Palmerston, and a dairy sale on account of Mr R. A. McDonald, of Levin.

At Dannevirke last Friday wo had a small entry of sheep, but a good yarding of cattle. The attendance was small. Most of the stock changed hands at current rates.

At Woodville on Monday, owing to the inclement weather prevailing only a small entry came forward which met a ready sale. Prices ou the whole were equal to the larger centres.

At Pahiatua on Tuesday a full yarding of both sheep arid cattlo was submitted, the entries all round largely exceeding advertised numbers.

Business at auction was fairly maintained throughout, and a large clearance resulted. A number of vendors had prohibitive reserves on cattle which were turned out unsold.

At Shannon on Tuesday we had a full yarding of stock which readily found buyers, every hoof being disposed of.

At Otaki only a small yarding came forward, but everything changed hands.

At Palmerston yesterday wo had b. full entry of both sheep and cattle. There was a. large attendance, including many buyers from a distance. The sheep mainly comprised lines of good wethers which were eagerly competed for, every lino changing hands at prices in favour of vendors. Cattle sold freely especially heifers forward in calf'and good young sorts. Grown steers were not quite so much in demand, and fat cows were easier. With the exception of a line of 2 year bullocks, every pen was sold.

At Mr McDonald's sale there was a._ large, attendance and spirited bidding.
