Tho report 01 the Board of Benevolence showed that grants to widows, aged brethren and others had been mado during the year totalling £IG9 13s.

The rank of Past Junior Grand Warden was conferred on Brother 11. C. A. Wundram. of Hawke's Bay and the rank of Past Deputy Gram! Master ou Brother G, H. Powley, Auckland.

Reference was made in the report of the Board of General Purposes to the long-standing dispute with tbe Grand Lodge of Scotland. In August the District G rand plaster of the Scottisli Constitution in Canterbury proposed to opon a new lodge under the Scottish Constitution. The Grand Superintendent for Canterbury, N.Z. Constitution protested, and Brother McDougall agreed to defer opening the new lodge, and a statement of position having been sent to Edinburgh, the Grand Lodge of Scotland wrote in September last, stating that they had cabled their District Grand Master in Canterbury to delay the erection of the proposed new lodge and await instructions. There the matter remained.

To-night the Grand Master and officers were installed.
