Poetry.

THE QUEST FOR BLUE ROSES.

(By Rudyard Kipling.)

Roses red and roses white Plucked and for my love's delight; Sho would nono of all my poses— Bade mo gather, ncr onto roses.

Half tho world I wandered through Seeking where such flowers grew— Half the world unto my quest. Answered but with laugh and jest.

Home I camo at winter-tide. But my silly love had died," Seeking with her latest breath. Roses from tho arms of death.

It may be beyond tbe grave Sho shall find what she would have. Mine was but an idle jest, Roses red and white aro best.
