Drowning Fatality.

Haweea, This Day. Two settlers, named Somers and Shearer, were crossing a ford on the Waingongorc river between and Okaiwa, when the trap they were in overturned and Somers was drowned. A young 3ady who saw the accident went for assistance when Shearer was rescued in an exhausted condition. The ford is simple under normal conditions, but it is dangerous when the river is in flood as at present.
