The Salvation Army.

Commissioner MfiKie, Chief of the Salvation Army m Australasia, who is at present touring Hew .Zealand, conducted a revival meeting in the Salvation Army Barracks last night. The Commissioner and his staff have already visited the principal s-outhern cities, and everywhere his meetings have been most enthusiastic. Last night's gathering was no exception to the rule, for the Barracks was crowded to the doors with a most attentive audience. Commissioner McKie addressed those present on the latter part of the 4th chapter of -Deuteronomy, making an earnest exhortation to those among his hearers who were yet without sal vu lion' to " seek the Lord while he was near.'c The forceful language and energetid gestures of the speaker simply compellea the attention of the listeners, on whom deep impression was made, while several openly professed their repentance. A final meeting is to be held at the Barracks to-night.
