The result of the poll for the five thousand lo;iu in No 0 and 7 Wards, of the Manchester Koad Hoard, was 77 for, and 53 against, a majority of 24 for the loan. Yet owing to that -elic of barbarism, which was required in this case, and which allows the majority to be governered by the the majority to be governed by the one vole.
The result of the poll is proof positive that the board was quite justified in deciding to submit the schedule of works as advertised, and if there is another chance of a poll— which we very much doubt—we suggest that Uie Board adhere to the schedule of work first submitted to the ratepayers, with perhaps the alteration of including one other road
We also suggest a polling booth on the Pohangina Road.
