The first spell was all in favour of the North Island men, of whom the Auckland contingent ware the bright particular stars, but when the ends wero changed the southerners swept all before them, the Canterbury section standing out in marked prominenco. At half time the scores were North Island 14, South Island 6, Long, Lieraan, Aaher and Wylie scored tries for the North, one being converted. For tho S>uth Porteous scored a try, and Harper kicked a penalty goal. The Northerners did not score in the second naif, while the Southern men put an fourteen additional points. McGregor (2), Wood and Harper wero responsible for tries, from one of which a goal was kicked.
