Borough Fountain.
Ihe following are the Ml conditions drawn up by the committee (and not by Or Edwards only, as stated by us id error yesterday) for (ho competitive designs m connection with, the ornamental fountain to be erected in the Squaro :— Conditions for the competitive designs for an ornamental fountain, fo be a drinking fountain or spray fountain, with, appliances for drinking purposes^ for the Palmerston North Borough Council, which it is intended shall be erected in th" Square, Palmerston North. All drawings of the accepted design to become the property of tho Council. Complete sets of working drawings, togotbor with specification shall bo supplied when required. Ten pounds will ho paid to the competitor whose design is awardod first placo by tho judge or judgos appoint od by tho Council, but tho money will .not bo paid till the specifications, working drawings and details aro supplied, and the Council fchiill from titno to timo bo entitled to receive all necessary details. She v do?ign be accepted, then the work ib Jinally passed, tho architect will bo paid an additional BUra of 5 por cent on cost of construction. Provision must fio made to curry off tho wasto water m and at the side of the base. Tho Council will appoint a clerk of the works who shall be under the control of the architect. Tho drawing., are to be feometrxcal. All drawings arc to be executed in Indian ink; lints or colouring ot any kind will not be allowed, but the neecssarr shading with Indian ink on portions of the plan of the elevation *ul be permuted.
