GUARDS BAZAAR.
Last evening the Guards Bazaar Committee met in the Drill Hall. Reports ot a most encouraging nature were received from the various sub-coramittees. Capt. Goldmgham reported that the Hon. it. J, beddon, Minister for Defence, has accepted the invitation to open the bazaar, provided his duties did not prevent. The Secretary reported that the Colonial Treasurer had given his consent to the holding of several art unions; and also that the season tickets wero selling readily. Volunteer. Collis, one of the most energetic of country members, presented alist of goods he had succeeded m inducing the Longburn ladies to make. He has thoroughly canvassed his district, and his efforts. were fully appreciated. Messrs Cohen, S. Bennett S Tombs, Mr Collingwood, and Capt' Goldingham wereappointed auentertainment committee, and Lieut. Morean Sergeants Merriman and Burr a com' mittee to arrange the stalls and decorate the theatre. Major Hall is to be asked to take charge of the museum. Amonsst the curious things promised for the museum is a handsome brown bear of a new species, said to have been discovered by a celebrated German traveller also time of day when shown a watch. - Corp Just undertook to provide a Christmas tree - and Capt. Goldingham stated Sat he had.purchased K)Q dolls, which *ere , bemg dressed by profioient dressmakers and milliners. • Altogether the bazaar promises to be a very successful one. lhe members of the ladies' committee are wo»king very hard, and there is sure to be a fine display of fancy aud useful goods in the various stalls.- The entertainineiits also will be on a large scale, including both rocal and instrumental items, ■,"'
