RAILWAY CLASSIFICATION.
The difference in the Railway Classification Bill' (No. 2) as compared with the first Bill introduced this session is as follows:—The definition of " sigualmen entitled to Is per day additional" is amended to read, 'fsignalmen in charge of important signal-cabins " ; sub-class 3, painters and trimmers, 9s, 9s Cd, 8s 6d, 'is omitted; instead of. " improvers who have not served five years as apprentices 7s6dto 8s; sub-class 4, the'words are inserted, ''junior tradesmen who have served an apprenticeship in.New Zealand railway, workshops of less than five years, until completion of five years' service, 7s 6d to 8s.".;;" sailmakers and rivctters" are omitted from subclass 5 ; " junior cleaners and rivet boys 3s to 3s 6d;" are omitted, with the object Of; leaving the minimum'at' 4s;a day; "painters and plumbers" are included
m subclass 4 of class 3, 8.?
