TERRIBLE CHARGES AGAINST . BELGIAN OFFICERS.
Antwerp, July 3. .'■ The steamer "Stanleyville, from Boma, has brought the news of one of : the., worst accusations as yet brought against officers in Africa. Two Belgian officers after a night, of carousing near a native village roused the.chief and 'demanded that he produce the wonien and make them dance for the amusement of the white men. The chief, on the plea that there was a native flying dead in the village, refused-to comply, whereupon the men took out their.revolvers and shot him dead. The women were" then brought, and everyone murdered by the drunken officer's. .'.'"."" . ' .'■'■ '.-.'■'.'.
_ Thisis the sum and subject of the indictment. The trial was in progress- when the Stanleyville left Boma. The news has been reported here by an-official of the"Gorigo Free Free State, who arrived here 911 the .Stanleyville. The resultof the' trial is not yet known,- as no further mail has;arrived since that brought by the Stanleyville. v .■.--■' • , '-. ~
