KINEMATOGRAPH.

There was a fair attendance at the iheatre Royal last : evening, when Cooper and McDermott exhibited animated filmsjand pictures representative of the funeral of the Queen, the Eoyal visit to Auckland and other notable incidents... The animated films of the tuneral procession of the Queen from Usborneto Portsmouth were well worth witnessing, the Eoyal yachts and their escorts of battleships and torpedo boats showing out well in the/pictures. The procession through London, though seen here before, was an interesting" film, an especially fine view of the Kmg being obtained. Among other pictures i 5 connection with that sad event were the removal of the "body to St. -George's Uiurcn, the private service there and the church and graveyard at Frogmore. In the miscellaneous pictures several very fine films were shown, those of the Ladysmith contingent of bluejackets from the Powerful, a film- stated to represent a sword cowbat between a Colonial and a Boer, the- OxfordUmbndge boat race, and Colonials in SoutE Africa, and an Association football match at the Crystal Palace grounds,'W. G. Grace and "Bangi." at batting practice, are deserving of ipecial mention. The attraction of the show, Jaowever, consists of the trick films and illusions, they being of an especially amusing nature, while the scenes enacted before the eyes of the audience are beyond comprehension. The last film displayed took about five minutes to run through the machine and was decidedly one of the best of the evening's produce tion. During the performance-a number of vocal and instrumental selections were contributed by a loud-sounding phonograph, the best, perhaps, being the playing of the " Double Eagle" march by tne New York band, the music being heard all over the Theatre. The entertainment will be-repeated this evening with change of programme.
