FRENCH CONVICTS.

Dr Patton interviewed Mr Barton, who voiced his fears in reference to France's intention of sending a large number of convicts to the New Hebrides. Mr Barton reiterated the assurance that a watchful eye is being keptonallmattevs pertaining to the South Seas, which quietened: the fears in regard to the im-portatien-of French convicts.
