Sydney. July 18. The employment of Lascars on board the steamer Omrah does not necessarily mean that this praotice will be generally followed throughout the Orient Line's fleet.

The Omrah belongs to the Naval Eeserve, and ia compelled to carry a minimum numbor of British sailors. The company was unable to get tho requisite number to take the vessel to sea, and Scandinavians were engaged, but this was objected to. Lascars, who are British subjects, were therefore engaged.
