SPORTING.

FOXTOK RACES.

The annual meeting of the Foxton Racing Club takes place on Monday and Tuesday, and judging by the acceptances, there should be good sport and a large attendance. Of course there will be a much larger gathering of people on the second day owing to the general holiday. Trams will leave the Palmerston railway station at 9.50 a.m. on both days. The following tips should be near the mark ■ Flying—Skylark. Hurdles—First Shot or Kaiwhakaroa. Cup—Hotu. Stewards—Tukapa. Summer—The Hempie. Welter—Ngapuhi.
