The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows:—
At our fortnightly sales at Wellington last week we offered 1000 sluns and 15 bales and ba^s of wool. Prices remain at about the level of last sale's r:tes. Wo quota—Sheepskins : Merino and half bred, 5d to sii per lb ; cros3bred, prime, 5d to srd ; medium to good crossbred, 4d to 4i|d; inferior to broken, 2d to 3f d per lb. Pelts from 3d to Is 6d each. Butchers1 green skius in good demand. Wool: Good crutchings, 3d to 3|d ; medium, 2d to B;}d : stragglers' fleeoe, 4|<3 to 5d ; pieces, l^d to 2£d per lb. Mtssrs Murray, Eoberta and Co., report :—We offered 65 bales of wool and 5250 cheep skins. Prices for wool were slightly lower than last week, owing no doubt to continued unfavourable reports from London. We quote: Sfaiiis— Merinos, 5d to sfd per lb; fine crossbred", 4|d to s£d ; coarse cross-bred, 4£d to 4jfd; hoggets and dead, 3d to 4d, Wool—Good cruichinga, 3d to 3£d; short and inferior crutchings, 2d to 2£d ; s'.ragglers' fleece, 4d to 4J5.
