Railway Servants' social and dance in Lyceum Theatre on September 19th. First shipments of summer goods now being opened up at Barclay's, draper. Literary and Debating Society meets in Fire Brigade Hall to-morrow evening. Tho Defiance Creamery, Ashhurst, will be open to receive milk on Wednesday. Limelight lecture entertainment at Cuba-street Wesleyan Church on Monday, 10th inst. Loyal Manawatu Lodge Anniversary social and dance in Theatro Royal on Wednesday, 12th inst. The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Co., Ltd., make additions to their Feilding and Palmerston sales. A testimonial testifying to the wonderful curative properties of "Vitadatio" will be found in our advertising columns. A meeting oE burgosses will bo held at the Q'heatre Royal this evening for the purpose of considering the Borough Drainage Scheme. Messrs Barraud & Abraham want to purahase a stationary engine with multitubular boiler, 20 or 30 h.p. ; also portable engine, 12 to 16 h.p. Gorton & Son will hold a sale of an ex- j tensive flaxmill plant at Mr T. U. McKensie's Poyntsfield Estate, Lower Rangitikei, on Monday next. On Wednesday, oth September, Messrs Abraham &■ Williams will hold an unreserved sale of Mr S. W. Carter's dairy stock, at his farm, Shannon. Harry Palmer will hold a clearing sale of first-class dairy stock, implements and furniture, at Mr W. J. Row's farm, Longburn, on Wednesday next. The N.Z. Loan & Mercantile Agency Co. will hold an unreserved sale of Mr G. R. Mcßae's dairy cattle, &c, at Waitohi, Tokomaru, at noon to-morrow.
