STOCK REPORT.
Messrs Abraham & Williams report as follows:— At^Palmerston on Thursday there was a large attendance. We had a full yarding of cattle over 600 head coming forward consisting chiefly of good forward bullocks and useful steers, for which the demand was keen. Bidding was brisk throughout the sale and with the exception of one line of weaners and a few backward heifers a total clearance was effected. Sheep wore represented by one line of 820 good ewes in lamb which realised 14/9 and a small pen of store ewes made 10/1; fat and forward bullocks, 7/15/- ; forward bullocks, 5/18/6, 6/-/-, 6/5/-, 6/9/-; 3 year bullocks, 4/18/-, 5/3/-, 5/5/-; 2 year steers, 4/4/-; IS months and 2 year steers, 3/16/6 ; yearlings, 3/-/-; weaners, 2/4/-, 2/7/-; calves, 30/-; fat cows, 4/16/- to 5/-/-; springing heifers, 4/14/6 to 5/-/-; heilers in calf, 3/18/- to 4/7/6 ; springing cows, 5/-/- to 8/-/-; store cows, 2/l, r>/- to 3/5/-. • On Monday we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr B. McLellan. The cows were a good lot but , rather low in condition. They were. | however, keenly competed for and sold readily at prices ranging from 4/15/- to 8/-/-. Heifers in calf made 5/1/-. Weaners 38/- to 2/4/-.
