LETTER FROM LORD ROBERTS.
The following extract is from a letter received by a relative of Lord Kobercs in Woodville (says the Examiner) by the last South African mail:—
" Army Headquarters, " Vaal River, 25th May, 1900. " You will lioar all about the war trom the men of the New Zealand Contingents when they return home. They have done admirably, and make wonderfully good mounted infantry, the branch ot the service which has most to do against an enemy like the Boers. You may all well be proud of the fine fellows sent from New Zealand."
Then he adds as a postscript:— "lam greatly struck by the intelligence and gentlemanly appearance of the men who have come from New Zealand and Australia, and it delights me to think that they are fi"b.tin«» for the Old Country.—ll." °
