While the coach from Mangaweka was going to Mangaonoho yesterday mornin« the front axle broke, when nearing a very steep cutting near the Makohine viahuct. The driver was thrown between the horses' feet and badly shaken, while Sergeant Dwyer, of Wanganui, was also thrown off his seat, and had his le<*s badly cut. Mr T. M. Wilford, of Wellington, who occupied a seat on the box managed to jnmp clear. There were a number of passengers in the conveyance who. were much agitated by the occurrence, tvvo ladies being so effected that they lost consciousness.
