THE STOCK MARKET.

Charles Carr reports as follows : — Apiti sale, Tuesday, 6th inst.—This was one of the best attended and most successful sales I have yet held in Apiti. There was a good yarding of both cattle and sheep, and the quality of stock very good. Nearly every pen was quitted under the fall of the bammer. A line of yearlings, bred by Mr Walter "Watson, reached 65s 6d. Feilding Shaep Fair, Friday, I6fch inst —There was a large yarding of sheep, and the attendance was considerably over the average. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson & Co., WaDganui, report as follows :—We have to report a full yarding of sheep at St. Hill Street and Waverley, and also to record a drop of ls 2d per head on ewes and lambs at both places. Wethers held their own. At St. Hill Street the bulk was cleared, and at Waverley barely half the entry. Cattle were in small supply at both places, Grown bullocks commanded recent prices, but smaller sorts were somewhat easier. Pork and bacon pigs sold rather better, but stores showed no improvement.
