BY-ELECTIONS IN ENGLAND

London, February 19. Tu-o- by-elections to the House of Commons have just taken place. Plymouth has returned the Hon. Ivor Guest (Conservative) without opposition, in place of Sir Edward Clarke (Conservative), who resigned in consequence of the resolutions of censure passed upon him by his constituents for his sympathy with the Boer cause in the present war.

! The seat for the Newark Division of I Nottinghamshire, hitherto held by the Hon H. H. Finch-Hatton, Conservative, I having become vacant, Mr Welby, anj other Conservative, has been elected by a majority of 2291. A NICE FORTUNE. .New York, Febrvary 18. Roland Molineux, who was convicted a few days ago after having been tried twice, for having poisoned Mrs Kate Adams, and attempted to poison Henry Cornish with cyanide of potassium sent through the Post Office, is to be executed by meanjs of electricity on 26th March. '
