To show the advantages offered we print the following from the regulations :— Subject to such conditiens as the Steward of Villiage Settlements may prescribe, and within the first five years of the date of the selection, an advance of a aura not exceeding £20 will be made to assist a selector m the erection of a house on his selection ; and m bush land a further sum not exceeding £2 10a an acre will be advanced for bush-felling and for grassing from such sums as may be appropriated by Parliament for these purposes." It will be seen (writes the Evening Press) that the Government not ouly give the land, but contribute £20 towards erecting a house on if, and also contribute towards the expenses of clearing and laying the ground down m grass.
