CHRISTCHURCH STEEPLECHASE MEETING.
Ckiustch l/KCit, Wednesday. The New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase meeting was held to-day. :The weather was glorious and the attendance numbered 2000. Tho following are the results of the various events:— Grand National Maiden Plate. — Donald 1, Sefion, late Maori Boy 2, Pickles 8. Handicap Hurdle Race.— Secretary walked over. . ■ . Tally- Ho ' Handicap. — Berrington 1, Moody 2. : • ■ , Cavalry Race. — Hard Times 1. Consolation Race. — Scrutineer 1. About £1000 was put through the two totalisators during the day. Dl'Nedin, .Wednesday, At the aDnual meeting of tho Forbnry Park Land Company a dividend of 4 per cent, and bonus of 4-2 10s waa declared, and £483 carried forward. Auckland, Wednesday. In addition to winning the' President's Cup and stakes to the amount of £G(i at the meeting of the Auckland Coursing Club, Mr W. F. Buckland, M.H.BJ, 1 won £150 privately. His win was ' very popular.
