Hassell and Co. report prices of produce without any material alteration. Oats continue firm at late quotations. New potatoes are now coming freely to band ; some importers are using extraordinary means iq the attempt to maintain high rates, but shippers must not expect more than 8s to 8s 6d, as locallygrown kidneys are now 1 selling at Id. Onions are very scarce, and holders are asking 6d per lb. Fruit is short m supply, and prices very high. George Thomas reports produce prices as follows : — There is nothing of any importance to note m the general lines, which are without change m value and demand, and, therefore, J give the following quotations without comment ? — Oats, feed, 3s 2d to 3s 3d ; flour, £9 to £9 10s ; fowls' wheat, whole, 2a lOd to 3s ; old potatoes are still m the market, and really good samples are worth £5. Hams and bacon are very firm, and rule 10£ d and 9|d respectively; cheese, steady at s£d ; fresh butter, what littl* is offering moves off at about 7d ; salt do, slight demand at 7£d ; eggs have advanced to Is and Is £d and are briskly enquired for ; new potatoes find ready sale at Id per lb ; green peas, Is per peck ; strawberries have realized lOd to Is per quait ; gooseberries, 3s 6d to 4s per half-case ; Fowls, from 4s 6d to 4s 9d ; ducks, 5s ; geese, 6s 6d to 7s ; and turkeys, 14s per pair."
