Serious Mining Accident.
THREE MEN SERIOUSLY INJURED.- / ; . (duited pbess association.) Thames, Nov. 22. ' A serious mining accident occurred this afternoon m the Caledonian Low Lever Company's workings, resulting m severe, injury to three "^ninerp" named Samuel Howard, Alfred James, and Nicholas Pearce. The men had charged three; holes with blasting powder, which' they proceeded to explode by " spitting " the fuse by igniting' life powder in' tiier notch at its end. - One of the charges exploded 'instantaneously, throwing- the three iiinfortHnrttres'dftwn"in vo the drive, but the earth displaced by fche other two shots fortunately paased over their prostrate bodies. ■ ' " '
