Laery and Campbell report : — " During the past week business has been quite as good as could be expected, for this time of the year, Potatoe.s have not come forward too freely ; £5 10s, has, therefore, been obtainable. NeW potatoes still continue to realize lfd per lb. For a good bright sample of really bright heavy feed oats 3s to 3s 2d might atill be obtained for trade lines. Flour cannot be- quoted at .'more jtban £9 per r tohi Cliibk wheat is still worth 2s od to 3s for good samples j inferior, unsaleable. Salt butter is 'quite out of the market, and 4d was the best price obtainable for fresh at auction on Saturday, ndt worth more, but that all tbfe grocers have had such largo quantities brought; m, more m fact than. they have had time'; tb' salt down. Eggs ■ maintain the price| of lOd. Hams ftnd^bacon^ 9d nerlb. Poultry is still very scarce. There was better Tmsiiies's done at the Kb'rse yWd last week than has been the case for sotne time past. Sevetal lots that did not reach" owners' value at the sale being afterwards satisfactorily placed."
