Laery and. Campbell report :— " During the week business has been better aud firmer, but there are no large transactions to report. . Old potatoes are offering very freely, quotations that would be reliable are quite impossible to make. New potatoes, £14 to £15 per ton. Oats are worth, iv wholesale lines, 3s to 3s 2d, and the demand is veiy limited, the general impression being that they will shortly be lower. The only onions m the market are the American, which are worth, about 20s. Chickwhoat we quote at 2s frlto 3s for good samples, and we could not quote milling wheat as being worth .much more here. Salt butter is • without enquiry ; fresh butter, Bd, > With a.sHghtly downward tendency ; eggs, lOd tb'.lld ; fowls, 4s per pair ; ducks, 4s 6d do ; turkeys,. 7s 6d; each ; geese are never very saleable. Horses still continue to be enquired for. ! ' ' ... :. M:
