The musician bold is a crotchety cuss, A mixture of smiles and tears, Andante says he's been growing worse Fox over a score of years. The genius travels everywhere, From North to the sunny South ; • And 0 when he sings, he renders the air Till you'd wish he'd schottisclie mouth The musician's wife is a source of wo, For she's always Wagner tongue ; And he swears that a woman half solo From Adam there never sprung. And he cries, " Now Liszt to what I say," While his voice with rage did quaver ; " I'll thrash her well with a stave some day, And I'll give her a rest foreveri" The musician bold can never change' The tenor of his ways ; He's altogetiier a thing too strange To paint m a poet's lays. , • > Yet 0 he HandeU the answering keys With a master's wondrous art; And he pours a stream of melodies That Flotow the listener's heart.: Good Gliusk attend the musician bold Whenever his footsteps stray I May his pockets be filled with bars of gold Whene'er he haa notes to pay I ; With oyster Pattis and every Kind Of dainties may he be blest I. ; [ ; And to buy a cigar may he always find A Nicolini's vest ; " :1 The musician bold, may his days be long, And his nights be free from wo!
