Wellington Produce Markets.
George Thomas reports a continued week of dulness m all produce lines. Harvesting operations are now over, and the result shows a good yield of oats, wheat, barley ,"ahd particularly potatoes and onions ; while : maize is not equal to last year's returns. Latest telegrams from Sydney report a considerable fall m New Zealand salt butter, being m fact a reduction from Is 2d to lOd and lid ; this will no dbiibt have due effect upon prices here, as the. market is ruled completely by reports from Australia. Hams and Bacon are scarce, pending arrival of new cure, expected about first week m June ; farmers' cure commands 9d and 7£d respectively. The following are market quotations : — Oats, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; fowls' wheat, 3s to 3s 3d ; maize, 4s 3d ; flour, LIO 10s ; bran, L 4 5s ; pollard still actively enquired for at L 5 5s ; oatmeal, Ll2 10s ; potatoes, sss ; onions, L 5 10s ; cheese sjd to s£d ; fresh butter, lid, salt do, 9d to 10a"; lard, m bladders, od. Eggs very scarce, 2s 3d to 2s 6d j fowls, 3;| Ikl ; ducks, 43 ; geese, 5a 6d to-6s ; and turkeys, 9s per.. pair.
