Native News.
AVith regard to the rumour which was apread two or three days buck that the Parihaka natives had been selling their horses m considerable numbers, m order to make preparations for resuming Te Whiti's monthly meetings on a large scale, we (Post) may mention that the report is slightly exaggerated. A rather larger number of horses than usual has been brought m for sale, but there is no occasion to attach any political significance to the fact. The monthly meetings have been held for a long while past, indeed, ever since Te Whili's return to Parihaka except for the first two or three months, and the Native Minister has not raised, or would raise, any sobjection po long as only a small number, say not more than 70 or 80, were assembled. If they were m large numbers they would be turned back.
