'(DIELECTRIC TELEaRAPH.^COMTRIGHT), (REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.) Melbourne, April 4. Craik, the driver of the passenger train died from the injuries received by the collision. A list giving the names of 23 persons seriously injured is published, and many others are slightly injured. Everything tends to confirm the frightful nature of the shock. The trucks were heaped upon one another for a ' distance ,of 20ft and tenders on the top of .the engines. ; The scene wan one of tlesolatiou^anJ the'state of.the injured .was most piteous till assistance arrived, and this not till 4' hours had elapsed. Biddell, the stationmaster, has confessed his resppnsdbility for the, catastrophe. The saff system is, it appears, practically m obeyance on the Victorian lines. ; Accounts from Sunbury disaster state the; explosion ,was terrific; Several tracks were smashed and a .fire-bo^ ■•veigbing half a tou was blown a distance of. 800 yards- ■
