» - . Under date of the 23rd February, we have the latest quotations for grafn^ f.0.b., Lyttelton. The crops in the Canterbury district, although late, like our own,are fully up to the average both as, to quantity. There is little doing in tho wheat market owing to the 16 w prices ruling for New Zealand wheat in England, which would l&w» a loss on anything over 3s 3d, f.oJb. f Lyttelton,. :foif.a-q, lots.. Millers; are still working on their old stocks, and disinclined to buy at eveu the present low fates, as without the usual foreign export of surplus wheat takes place, and ho tar there seems no opening fcu> it , the local markets will be shortly glutted and prices far below even thefc present level. The Canterbury Times of tho 28rcl Feb. quotes as under ;— Wheat — A' few sales, of the new crop have been made at 3s 4d to 3s 6d fcoib^ bufrprioesforthe bulk have not yet been declared. It is thought that values will open 3s to 3s 3d at railway* stations. Old wheat commands up to 4s, . \
