■ ... .. » "&.■■-•>•-■• U : In the Bridgevvater (Victoria) district thele- is (accorJidgJ to -ithe'iCdlac 'Reformer) an abundant growth of a ..ncw^an^sJLrange herbage plan^hat made its appearance m the district some few-yeai^ ago, and established itself to the great advantage of owners of stock, it is popularly and affectionately spoken of as "Jack Hollis," but it is now getting' io be called wild prairie gnus. At the present time it stands eight or nine . inches high m the Bridge»vater paddocks the plants standing t close together. Tt can be mown like ' "oats. It grows m tussocks, and has the. power to fix loose sands. It grew all through last wintei', and is now coming into ear where it his been kept down by stock. Cattle are very fond of it., and, the best thing of all, rabbits will not comenear vhere it is. *"*■'■/■}
