CHARGE OF RAPE.
At tho Fielding Police Court today a Native named Ratima ftekawa, was ehnruedon remand with having committed rape on a Native girl named /na H'>eta; Mr Perkins appeared for the accused. The police off*™d no further evidence. It transpired that tvo men had been working closa to the place where, and at the time when tho alleged offence had taken place, and it being apparent that there was no pvuleoce to support the criminal charge, the case waß dismissed,
