The adjourned meeting 1 of the Borou<rh Council was held last evening m the Council Chambers. Present — His Worship the Mayor Cis. Walker, Mowlem, West, Perkins, and Leary. A letter was rend from the late poundkeeper, Mr Goodi«son,Jasking the Council to fulfil the contract entered into by paying him a further sum of £3 and the cost of ft chain and lock ss; The Mayor said before the Council entertained the request, it would be for them to know whether Mr Goodison had fulfilled his engagement by sinkings well and leaving the pound m good order. „It :*ag -resol ved on the motion of Gr! Perkins, That the question be deferred until the next meeting of the Council, and that the Engineer report as to the condition of the pound when handed back by Mr Goodisson. Pubiican's License FeesA. communication was read from Mr Lintofl, the Chairman of the Licensing Bench asking the refund of L 5 4o Messrs Walker, Carroll, Fenten, and. Wollerman, they having each paid LSO for their publican's license, instead of L 45 as required by the law. The ! Report cj Inspector of Nuisances. The Inspect or of Nuisances reported that lie had inspected all the places complained of previously, and found that his requests had all been cotnplieed with!
