and be had not the slightest doubt that with him as mayor, the Counci] wonld work as amicably and harraoniouslvas m the past. Cr Suelson, oh taking the chair, said I that he occupied his present position through a combination of circumstances. ,He might simply state that he would occupy the position of Mayor for the ensuing term, aiid no amount of persuasioh would induce him to remaih m it after the, completion bt his term. The proceedings then terminated, and the Council adjourned till' the next , ordinary mbeting.
