SAD FATAL ACCIDENT.
[Patea Mail] .:> The circumstances surrounding- tbe death of James Harvey, who was killed at Eltham on Friday last, are of a peculiarly melancholy nature. The deceased went to work at 9 o'clock iv the morning, and was engaged felling animmanse^otara trea,,^ foot. through. The unfortunate man called for help, but it was not until 9 o'clock on Saturday night that ho was found.- Owing- to tha imrnepse- weight ofithe tree'ifcywks fpurl o'ciocicjobi Sunday morning before a release was effected,! ■ antf , then; Harvey , expired almost immediately. When found he was quite che^rfuVandst-ited that he had kept himself alive H>y catching m his hand and driuking the water as it ran off the tree, for- it -was raining heavily at the time. Deceased, who (jvAsymueh respected^, wasi possessed of property at London, m addition to a 100 abf^scfctio'aM'EJtharh'/ and nearly i £100 cash. No will has been found, and tlie: estate, has l^been taken' charge of by Mr Homer, the agent for the Public Trustee** : Harvey is believed to ; have a wife living, but she separated from him some years ago.
