The Hawke's Bay Herald states that the con» ditibn of the rev. gentleman, who has been indisposed for some days, Was considered critical on Wednesday, especially towards evening, but at a late hour he rallied somewhat, and manifested hopetul symptoms of recovery. The news, of Father Forest's illneßß will be reai with regret by a great number of our readers, to whom his* nearly 50 years Bojourn.as a missionary m New Zealand, 25 years of which period have been passed m the Napier district, is w$U -and favourably remembered. Father Forest is m his 80th year. J
