Wellington Racing Spring Meeting. : (by telegraph.) I (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, November 80. The Wellington Racing Club's Spring meeting was held on the Hutt Racecourse today. The weather was dull and threatening. About 800 were present. The course was m splendid condition, and a good day's sport was had. The following are the results : — Railway Stakes Handicap, 50 soys; 1£ miles. Siif George ... 1 Administrator ... ... ... 2 Drd... *" 8 $ir George could not be shaken off, and the result was a dead heat, Dan a bad third. Tho owners of Sir George and Administrator agreed to divide the stakes and Sir George cantered round the co-irse. Time, 2.30£. The totalisator paid on both horses. Hurdles, 50 soys, 2} miles. Orient ... . 1 Bob ; ;;; ;;; 2 Liability ... ... ... ... 3 Orient won as he liked. Time, smih 21£secs. Flying Stakes, 40 soys ; i miles. Administrator ... 1 Treasurer ... 2 The Poet ... ... '.'.'. [[[ $ Time, lmin 20secs. .IfiiTT Park Spring Handicap, 150 soys; 1$ miles. The Poet' ... ... .. ... 1 €Tdd Trick ... ... ... ... 2 Miss Juan . '... 3 'Entering : the straight, Dan was lying fourth, but The Poet answered to the call given him, and Won by a length, Odd Trick a good second, w}th Miss Juan close on his quarters. The other horses where nowhere. The owner of Sir George laid a protest against the Poet on'the grounds that he crossed Dan and Sir George. 'After due consideration, the stewards disallowed the potest;, and gave the Stakes to The Poet. Several of the jockeys alleged that both: Odd Trick and Miss Juan went inside the post.
(BY TELEGRAPH. J (UNITED PRESSASSOCIATION.) Wei LiNGiON, December 1. The second and third horses m the Hutt Park Spring Handicap have oeen disqualified on the grounds of passing inside the post. The club will consider at its meeting whether to pay second" and third money over io. horses which finished fourth and fifth.
