The Secretary of tho Wanganui Football Club has received a communication from the secretary of the Manawatu Club, enquiring whether it will be conn venieiit to have 'the return match with that club played this season. The Wanganui men will not be able to aci cept the challenge thisi season;, much; to their regret, owing to the lateness jof the season and the faofc that the Wanganui team has broken up. This match* was to have come off on the Bth instant, but owing tb the Manawatu club wishing it to be postponed, a match was arranged with Hawera on that date, the Palmerston men taking their chance as to whether a match; could be played after the return of pur men from Nelson, Suoh is not possible howihbweyer^'nnd, the local teW; will look forward to the contest next year.
