Manawatu Standard (PUBLISHED DAILY.) Suivant la verite. WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19, 1883. THE DAIRY FACTORY..
We commend to our readers' attention the letter from Mr J. H. Monrad, appearing elsewhere. This gontleman is a piacticiil euthnsjust m all matters apfiertaining to .d^iry fa^iorjes, and has always displayed tlie y/armest interest m the matter of their establishment. We do not yield even to him m our confident belief that nothing will tend more to the advancement of the district than the existence of dairy factories. We are quite .m accord -with Mr .-tIoNgAJ) -.that depression will attend üb,| until we put forth aabonegy, combined, [
•>nil energetic eflort to establish local |. industries ir. our mitlsfc. Chief among local industries must bn enumerated /choose, batter, and bacon factories, as those are the most closely identified .With the welfare of the wh'>le district, and with e.vevy individual class andvsec" "tion of the community. We stvonarly urge upon every resident the necessity of giving the project every possible support. En >win^ that m doing so, be will be comiibuting directly to ths removal of the stagnation now apparent, and to tho return of some show of prosperity. As Mr Monrad points out, the duty of supporting ihe eutorpris > is a 'moral obligation, of which all shouldjfed their individual an,d-_,.uadin yided responsibility.
