The mucb-talked-of Gorge Railway project may nojw be considered virtually hung up for an indefinite period. So much for hustings' {pledges, so much for ssbu- ' ranees to deputations, so much for dependence on Cabinet Ministers. The matter need be discussed no further. The . tardy official information is now public property, end we know the worst.
