INTERPROVINCIAL. m (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Kelson, August 28. The house destroyed by fire yesterday belonged to Mr John May, a publican. It contained six rooms, and has been unoccupied tor some time past. It was m a dilapidated condition. The ins snrance was £350 m the New Zealand office. The origin is unknown. A fire broke out m a dwelling-house m New-street this morning. It waß occupied by Mr Shore. The fire was extinguished before much damage was done. The damage is nominal. Christchurch, August 28. ■ A Prospecting Association, with a capital of £1,000, has been formed here to thorough prospect the head waters of the Hakai and Wilberforce for gold. _.' The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cable advices that the British Queen left Plymouth for Port Chalmers on the 23rd August.
