Grey proposing to lease by bal« lot at upset price, but this was negatived by 37 to 30 and a further amendment m favor of auction also failed. On clause 13 Mr Larnach tried to get residence of overseer or manager instituted for compulsory residence by lessee but was negatwed by 32 to 23. A proviso of clause allowing residence within 20 miles m certain cases was struck out by 30 to 24. Clauses up to 30 were passed with light amendments. The House rose at 1. 5.
